G-20 Summit & Pratyaksh

Our School hosted the YuvaManthan Model G20. A glittering opening ceremony for the Model G20 Summit was held on the day . Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director (Skill Education & Training) was the Chief Guest of the Ceremony. Mr. G. Rambabu, Scientist-D, Central Pollution Control Board, Mr Amitabh Srivastava, Assistant Commissioner MCD Shahdara South Zone, Delhi, Mr. Ashish Jain, Director, Indian Pollution Control Association, Ms. V. Hima Jwala, Scientist B, Central Pollution Control Board, and Mr. Nitin Agrawal, Director, Yuvamanthan, Dr. N.K. Uberoi, Chairman of the school and Vice Chairman DAVCMC, Mrs. Chitra Nakra , Manager, LMC and PTA members graced the guest gallery. The ceremony was attended by parents and students as well. The multilingual onstage cultural extravaganza- ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ enthralled the audience.
The theme of the Summit was Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a Way of Life. The students deliberated, discussed and drafted a resolution. Classroom activities based on G-20 Summit were also organized in the classes. Children made Papier Mache objects, Calendars, Folders and designed packaging material for the food products. The aim of these activities was to ensure that ‘No Child is Left Behind’. The Valedictory ceremony was held in the august presence of esteemed guests- Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, Science Communicator, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ms. Palak Kohli, Coordinate Associate at the Y-20 Secretariat.
Pratyaksh an exhibition displaying the multi-skilled talent of the students was also put up on the day. The models and projects submitted by students as part of the Holidays Homework were displayed the exhibition. The themes of G20 and SDGs were seamlessly integrated in summer vacation holidays homework.
A special edition of the school magazine Anubhuti- highlighting the students achievements was released on the day.
Dr. Saha emphasized on the importance of Skill Education and Experiential Learning in the 21st Century scenario. He appreciated the Principal for her tenacious efforts for integrating Skill development in school curriculum.
Mr. G Rambabu gave an insightful talk on the topic -Choking of Storm-Water Drains & City canals due to Plastic waste and Risk of Anthropogenic Flood.
‘Kind words can change hearts and spread happiness in the world’, stated the Chairman in his address to the audience.
Vinita Kapoor, Principal urged the parents and students to follow sustainable practices at home and refrain from using single use plastic products.
